Principal’s Message

Welcome! Thank you for visiting St. Rose of Lima online!

From the Principal

Dear St. Rose of Lima School Families, Faculty and School Staff,

It is wonderful to be a part of such a spiritual family of St. Rose of Lima School in the Parish of
St. Rose. I have been working with school staff and different school organizations and Father
Joseph Byerley in the transition into the position of principal. During the month of July the
parish staff of St. Rose, school staff and the families’ organizations have been very welcoming
and willing to help me on my transition. Thank you all for the help that you are giving and what
you will do in the future. The school organizations such as the Athletics, Arts, Drama
Committees and the Dad/Father’s Group, PTA and School Advisory Board, has shown
tremendous efforts of support and compassion for service to the students and teachers in starting off the 2018-2019 school year.

The administrative staff, teachers and support staff are working hard to make sure that we will
have a successful beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. The Catholic community needs to be
able to engage the gifts of its entire people as potential leaders in the mission of the church to
bring Jesus Christ to all. I would like to thank everyone for their support and efforts to make the
school environment a place of spiritual and academic growth for the students.
Rosa Parks stated that “Each person must live their life as a model for others.” It is my hope that
together we can build a Catholic school community that establishes a culture of Catholic
spirituality, respect, accountability and responsibility for the all students of St. Rose of Lima
School. The culture of the school is the foundation that will direct us to quality academic
success. It is absolutely essential for students to have an education that adequately prepares them to enter each step of their academic development.

A quality education is an absolute essential. Education is the foundation of society,
“If you really want to know about the future, do not ask a technologist, a scientist, a physicist.
No! Don’t ask somebody whose writing code. No, if you want to know what society’s going to be
like in 20 years, ask a kindergarten teacher.” – Clifford Stoll (Astronomer, Educator). Henry
Adams was quoted, A Teacher Affects Eternity. He/She Never Can Tell Where His/Her
Influence Stops.” Teachers and parents have been given a gift to mold and craft eternity. Respect
the influence that you have in developing the future.

We have a great 2018-2019 school year ahead of us, I’m excited to think about all that we will
accomplish together. Good luck!!

God Bless,

Deacon Joseph Rafferty
