Saint Rose of Lima School excels in the academic development of all students. The academic program involves a challenging, yet developmentally appropriate curriculum that allows students to develop to their fullest potential. Students are taught to think critically, problem solve, communicate clearly, write effectively, read critically, and listen attentively. Teachers strive to encourage students to be active learners and inspire inquiry through their individual learning styles, cooperative learning projects and interdisciplinary explorations.
St. Rose of Lima School has an outstanding math and language arts program. Accelerated math is offered to students in grades 5-8 who meet the criteria necessary for the program. Our eighth grade students in accelerated math consistently have a 100% passing rate on their high school Algebra I exams, permitting them to take higher level math courses in their freshman year. Our language arts teachers incorporate current writing and reading methods, which are developed at in-service monthly faculty meetings.
